Stadtgefühle 2024
From 31 May to 2 June 2024, the Stadtgefühle future festival, organised by a motivated, mixed-age team, took place for the first time.
Despite the unfortunately mixed weather, over two thousand visitors came together over the three days at our locations on Ernst-Ludwig-Platz, Gutenberg-Platz, the Lux building on Schillerplatz and on the square at Malakov-Passage to imagine a sustainable, vibrant Mainz.

Visitors were treated to a varied programme: the music on our stage ranged from pop-punk by the band ‘Snuckouts’ to jazz by ‘Absinto Orkestra’. In addition to the great music, the stage was also a place for exciting programme items, such as the entertaining improv theatre by the group ‘Die Affirmative’ or an informative panel discussion with candidates for the local elections taking place a week later on the topic of climate protection and sustainability in Mainz.
In addition to the stage program, Stadtgefühle das Zukunftsfest offered visitors added value through hands-on activities: there were workshops on topics such as emotional resilience, upcycling clothes and repairing bicycles. Participants were able to try out and learn a wide variety of things.
There was also a children’s programme to keep the youngest visitors entertained and all visitors – from young to old – were able to test their shooting power at a Mainz 05 goal wall.
Food from the Küfa (kitchen for all) was also available free of charge for culinary well-being.
